A Message from The Dove Brothers Quartet about The Lighthouse Children's Home:
"Across America there are literally millions of teenagers whose lives are in shambles. The telephones at Lighthouse Children's Home ring daily with guardians seeking help for hurting young people. The Lighthouse offers teenage girls a second chance in life; a place where they can come and allow God to work in their lives and change them from the inside out. We know you care about abused, confused, neglected, and unwanted young people. If you are able, we invite you to join our Adopt-A-Teen program. Your tax deductible gift of $20 per month will help The Lighthouse feed, clothe, educate, and care for a young person who otherwise would have no hope at all. The Dove Brothers Quartet has performed on multiple occasions at The Lighthouse Children's Home. Each time we leave we are refreshed spiritually and encouraged to continue in our own individual ministries. To hear these young ladies sing "If it wasn't for The Lighthouse, where would this ship be" gives the song an entirely fresh meaning. We know that it is hard to support a ministry that you have not had the opportunity to inspect or examine. You can take our word that The Lighthouse is being used of God to rearrange the lives of teenage girls otherwise left hopeless. We encourage you to support this ministry today." What is The Lighthouse? The Lighthouse is a beautiful 14.4 acre campus for troubled young ladies. Located 10 miles from downtown Tallahassee, Florida this "Haven of Hope" is complete with a dorm, dinning hall, administration building, staff living quarters, gymnasium, and Christian School. The one year program is designed for children between the ages of 12 and 16 who need and want help (some exceptions are made to the age policy). As a ministry The Lighthouse is focused on the spiritual and eternal. A wholesome environment has been created where young people can meet Jesus Christ and allow Him to change and redirect their lives. The Lighthouse offers a well rounded program including an ACE School, music program, womanhood classes, character classes, plus much more. "Every day young people who have been considered hopeless by the world have had their lives transformed through the power of God at The Lighthouse Children's Home." What is Adopt-A-Teen? We have been asked many times if we really mean for people to adopt these young ladies into their homes. In some cases this may be what is needed, but this is not the goal of our Adopt-A-Teen program. This program was developed to help The Lighthouse Children's Home meet the needs of the young ladies who live and learn in their facilities. Most of the young ladies that come to The Lighthouse have no one to fully cover the financial costs of their education, food, clothing, doctor bills, and so on. The Lighthouse spends approximately $1200 per month to support each young person who resides on their property. To underwrite this staggering sum we have developed the Adopt-A-Teen program. What exactly can I do? You can "Adopt-A-Teen" by sending $20 per month to The Lighthouse Children's Home. Your monthly gift will help The Lighthouse meet the ever growing financial needs of caring for these children. If just 60 people would send $20 per month one girls expenses would be paid in full. To join the Adopt-A-Teen program click here for a printable form and enrolment information. You can send your first month's $20 pledge with your form, or you can send your $240 pledge for the entire year. What do I get out of it? As soon as The Lighthouse receives your enrolment form and initial pledge we will send you an entire "Adoption Packet" which includes a 4x6 picture of your "adopted teen", a data sheet giving personal information about your teen, and a beautiful Certificate of Adoption that you can frame and display in you home or office. You will also receive a personal letter from "your" teen and you will then be able to correspond with her on your own. Another great benefit of supporting The Lighthouse Children's Home is that all of your donations are tax deductible. The Lighthouse is a non-profit organization. When you join the "Adopt-A-Teen" program you will help feed, clothe, and educate young ladies like these: Amy M. "I am so thankful for The Lighthouse. God has really helped me to get my life straightened out and back on the right path since I've been here. I thank God for the Adopt-A-Teen program. It's people like you who love and care that make it possible for girls like me to keep going. Thank you. I love you." - Amy Jennifer H. "The Lighthouse has been a special blessing to me. I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for The Lighthouse. When I thought there was no hope for my life Jesus came by and saved me. I am thankful for the Adopt-A-Teen program because people like you are the one's who keep this place open" - Jennifer Kara D. "Before I came into the home I didn't want to listen to authority. Now I want to do more than what I am told to do. It it wasn't for people who care, like you and the Adopt-A-Teen program, I would still be rebellious and unsaved. The Lord has called me to be an interpreter for the deaf." - Kara Please help The Dove Brothers Quartet support The Lighthouse Children's Home. Join the Adopt-A-Teen program TODAY! |
