The Real Girls of Rock Are Back with a Vengeance!

Girls Rock and Girls Rule will once again hit the road in 2008 bringing you the most fantastic rockin’ indie femmes on the music scene. GRGR was founded almost 7 years ago in NYC and is dedicated to increasing the exposure of awesome, female-infused rock bands (in harder-than-folk genres like indie, punk, hardcore, mathrock, metal, etc.). In 2006 they began touring the East Coast and last year they featured 35 of the best up and coming female rockers on the scene today. Part of the GRGR mission is to give back to the community and the current beneficiary is Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls who receives a portion of the proceeds from the tour. In 2008 they will have several shows in the NY/NJ area and then will head south and west to DC, NC, GA, OH, PA, and MD, from Oct. 3-12 with preview events in the summer/early fall. GRGR also celebrates their 7th Anniversary in NYC in Dec.

What can you expect at a GRGR show? No retouched pop princesses, just ladies rockin’ and ragin’, snarlin’ and screamin’, having a great time and making fantastic original music. They are fierce, independent, filled with passion and presence, playing songs of triumph, love, sex, politics, fun and freedom, and anything else you can imagine, bringing heart and their own unique viewpoint on whatever they happen to be singing about.
